ENTREPRENEUR / FREELANCER / SPEAKER / EDUCATOR / STAFF TRAINER / FEATURED KEYNOTE, #140CONF
A born and raised small town Kansan, Cody is also a serial entrepreneur. Since finishing his 4 year duty with the United States Marine Corps he has started several businesses and now dedicates his work hours to consulting and presenting for businesses, schools and organizations on the structure and execution of their communication strategies. His most important use of time is as a father of two, husband to the love of his life and friend.
Born in 1975 in Hutchinson Kansas, Cody developed a love for small towns along with a love for his high school sweetheart Tamara. Heading off to the Marine Corps to serve as a Sniper in a Special Operation Reconnaissance unit consumed 4 years of his life and provided some of the greatest life lessons he could ever hope for. He also proposed to Tamara and somehow convinced her to become a Marine Wife for the last two and half years of his military service. Their first child Baylee was also born during this time frame and was the leading factor in the decision to move back to Kansas to raise children near family and friends. Tamara started a web design business in the late 1990’s and Cody got involved in the sales and customer service side of the business. As that business grew Cody became passionate about the intricacies of all forms , types and mediums of communication. Staying on the cutting edge and being an early adopter of new technologies became a true way of life in his quest to be knowledgeable enough to advise the clients of the business. Cody and Tamara enjoyed the birth of their second child Chance in the late 1990’s right in the middle of trying to get a fledgling business up and running. That company was purchased by a media conglomerate in 2008 and after serving out an employment contract Cody and Tamara decided to start over as independent freelancers and spend some time enjoying the work at home life again. Cody’s professional life is now dedicated to help develop, implement and improve marketing and communications strategies for businesses, schools and organizations as well as presenting and facilitating discussions on the subject.
