Turquoise LeJeune Parker, a proud third generation, third grade teacher in Durham, North Carolina. Turquoise is a proud alumna of the very prestigious North Carolina Central University. An advocate for student and teacher rights, Turquoise along with 13 other North Carolina Public School teachers (one of those being her husband), participated in civil disobedience. Turquoise strives to make magic happen in her classroom everyday. She is a teacher blogger at mrsparkersprofessors.blogspot.com, the Vice President of the Durham Association of Educators, Epic! Master Teacher Cohort, and is a Lead Investigator for the Duke Talent Identification Program. She is married to her husband of three years, Donald Parker III!
Turquoise LeJeune Parker is a proud third generation teacher. Turquoise, is a native of Georgetown, South Carolina. She is a 2005 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Kannapolis NC and a 2010 graduate of the very prestigious North Carolina Central University, Durham NC. She was an active member of the NCCU Marching Sound Machine and eClipse auxiliary squad where she served as Band Chaplain and eClipse Section Leader. She is also a Spring 2006 initiate of the Epsilon Lambda Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, Inc.
Turquoise currently teaches third grade of Mrs. Parker’s Professors in Durham, N.C. while volunteering in many different areas that greatly benefit, enhance and enrich the lives of all children. On June 15, 2016, Turquoise along with 13 other North Carolina Public School teachers (one of those13 being her husband) participated in civil disobedience because she believes strongly that her children and all children deserve more. It is because of this belief, she makes magic happen in her class every single day. Turquoise believes it is her true passion to work with kids and continues to fight for our kids like their lives depend on it because it does! She is a teacher blogger at mrsparkersprofessors.blogspot.com, she uses this as a way to share with the world her creativity and all the wonderful things her students are accomplishing.
She is a member of several organizations such as Durham Association of Educators (Vice President), North Carolina Association of Educators, National Education Association, Best Keynote Speakers Bureau and a member of the Epic! Master Teacher Cohort. It is her passion that people get the best that God has to offer; and live to fulfill their Purpose! She lives her life according to Jeremiah 29:11. On June 14, 2013, Turquoise married her best friend, Donald Geofry Parker III, a fellow NCCU Alumnus.
